CE+C was originally hired as the engineer of record for a design build contractor, to provide basic air handling systems for the processing area of a cannabis extraction facility. Working on the project, we realized the owner team had a significant gap in their design for the 30,000 sf facility, and they added to our scope the design of a 1000 ton chiller plant, office HVAC, and an ISO8-compliant pharmacological packaging lab. The project was schedule limited and we worked with our local product reps to select equipment with minimal lead time, that would be available within the very tight project schedule. We helped the owner team develop complex flammable liquid sensing systems and fan controls, tying together the building controls, building fire alarm, and stand alone gas detection systems. We also assisted with the code analysis for the facility including egress and code required life safety systems.
